2月5日、シンガトカに位置するラウニトゴ小学校で、「子供の森」計画の活動を行いました。
今回は生徒を2グループに分け、1つは植林を行い、ココナッツやマホガニー、 レモンなどを含む全33本の苗木を植えました。
そして、もう1つのグループは「子供の森」計画の歌を歌いました。
歌というのは、昨年完成した「子供の森」計画テーマソング“森の息吹”（熊本県出身のフルート奏者・栗谷かずよさん作詞作曲）のことです。
この歌の「森を守ろう 森を育てよう 未来へつなげていこう『子供の森』」という
日本語の歌詞を、現地のスタッフの方々と一緒にフィジー版に替えたものと、
昨年来日したインドネシアとミャンマーの子ども親善大使たちが考えた振り付けを、
フィジーの子どもたちに紹介しました。

はじめは恥ずかしがっていた子たちも、だんだんと歌に入りこんでいきます。学校の先生方もとても熱心で、これからもっと子どもたちに練習させるとおっしゃっていただきました。
この歌と踊りによって、世界の子ども達がさらに森や自然のことを考えていくきっかけになれるよう、今後他の国々でも広めていく予定です。
